1394 Trade Association Sets First-Ever Meetings in Taiwan
Seminar, Compliance Testing on Schedule for Nov. 13-17

Dallas, Oct. 25, 2007 – The 1394 Trade Association will hold
its first ever quarterly meeting in Taipei Nov. 13-17, hosted by a quartet of
leading Taiwanese companies and featuring a 1394 seminar for the industry.
The week-long meeting, which brings together leaders of the 1394 (FireWire)
technology from around the world, will be hosted by Comoss, Elka, ETC, and

As part of the meetings, a Compliance and Interoperability Workshop begins on
November 12. All companies are invited to participate with no charge. All
products that pass will be eligible for the FireWire/i.LINK 1394-compliant
logos.
In addition, a 1394b Design Seminar will be held Friday, Nov. 16 beginning at
1 PM. It will feature the following topics: 1394 market update (both 1394a and
1394b), 1394 Compliance Program, signal integrity testing, board layout for
1394b, cable power for HDD, add-ins, host adapters, and motherboards, and the
correct assignment of GUIDs.
